3. HOW CONSENT IS OBTAINED
Consent is always initiated by the customer, by one of two routes.
(a) Customer-initiated text message. A merchant or reseller sends a text message to our published support number to request assistance. By sendingthat message the customer starts the conversation and consents to receive replies from our support team about that request. Our support numbers arepublished on softtouchpos.com, on customer invoices, in our support email signatures, and in the greeting of our automated phone system.
(b) Support request by phone or email. When a customer reaches support by phone or email, the agent asks whether the customer would likeupdates by text and records the customer's agreement in the support ticket before any message is sent. The agent uses this script:“Would you like me to send updates on this ticket by text message to this number? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out.
4. MESSAGE FREQUENCY
Frequency varies and is driven entirely by the customer's own support activity. Messages are sent only while a request is open — typically 1 to 10 messagesper support ticket. Recurring or scheduled message campaigns are not sent on these numbers.
